On Thanksgiving Day, Pokey went with her family to visit Grandmother and Grandfather Turtle and the rest of the turtle family. Pokey loved Thanksgiving Day because it was a time when she could play with all of her cousins she hadn’t seen all year. Oh yes, of course, there was also that nice brown turkey with lots of grandmother’s tasty dressing and everything that makes a holiday table look and smell so tempting. Pokey especially loved those big, beautiful, golden yellow pumpkin pies, which Pokey never seemed to get enough of at any time.
