October
Uranus (Caelus)
The primordial sky
Once upon a time the Romans used a ten-month calendar without January and February. Several months were named by their place in it: septem is seven, octo eight, novem nine and decem ten. When January and February were added at the front, every month moved back two places, but the names stayed the same.
Several planets, too, were named along a line of mythological fathers. On this calendar October belongs to Uranus (Greek), or Caelus (Roman), the ancient and mysterious primordial father of the sky and the heavens.
